If you’re reading this article it’s safe to assume that either you or someone you love is suffering from Fibromyalgia. Although originally classified as a musculoskeletal system disorder (1990), the Western medical community is now acknowledging that is also a problem of the central nervous system.
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia more than 15 years ago. I consulted with general practitioners, doctors of internal medicine, rheumatologists and pain management specialists. I tried many different therapies and found some small relief. It wasn’t until I began my journey into self-development and energy healing that I found just the right combination and balance that ended my battle with fibromyalgia. I have been virtually symptom free for more than 9 years! Yes, 9 years! So let’s talk…
Fibromyalgia symptoms include tender points in the back, arms, chest and legs, sleep disorders, sensitivity to pain, irritable bowel syndrome, stiff and achy joints, Migraines and fatigue. With so much to contend with it’s no surprise that fibromyalgia sufferers often experience anxiety, depression and loss of energy. Most fibromyalgia patients also suffer from emotional tensions.
Western medicine was behind in recognizing fibromyalgia and is equally behind in their treatment plans. The good news is that recent research is changing the direction of fibromyalgia treatment. It is confirming something that Eastern practitioners have known all along; fibromyalgia is a disturbance in nerves which blocks energy flow. This systemwide breakdown requires several ‘alternative’ strategies to restore energy flow, balance and mobility and reduce pain and inflammation.
So what are these ‘alternative’ strategies? My fibromyalgia clients have had great results with a whole body approach to healing. This includes bioenergetics normalization (energy healing) which is showing amazing results in conjunction with EFT – Emotional Freedom Technique (Tapping), meditation, changes in diet to reduce inflammation, restorative exercise and herbs/supplements to alleviate pain and stiffness.
“Energy-based medicine could offer some important advances in treatment over the next decade.” – Dr. Oz
Although energy healing is still fairly new to Western Medicine it has been practiced in almost every culture for thousands of years. Dr. Oz has used energy healing to speed up healing in his patients both before and after surgery. Many hospitals are now recognizing the benefits of energy healing and implementing it in their treatment programs.
Since chronic inflammation is at the source of many, many dis-eases including fibromyalgia, it’s important to recognize that although some inflammation is normal and healthy – chronic inflammation needs to be addressed!
Here’s a good place to start…
Be sure you are eating a wide variety of anti-inflammatory foods such as:
Here are a few more therapies to consider:
Regular Exercise – Once inflammation has been reduced gentle exercise can help keep muscles in good health and reduce overall pain.
Proper Sleep – Sleep disturbance is common among fibromyalgia sufferers. Energy work combined with a personalized sleep regime can ensure better health and emotional wellbeing.
I would also recommend avoiding fluoride. For a host of reasons the least of which is because skeletal fluorosis (buildup of fluoride) symptoms can be very similar to those of fibromyalgia.
If you haven’t considered bioenergetics normalization (energy healing) I invite you to contact me for more information. Working together we can create just the right healing plan to restore balance and vitality to your life!
