Is This You?
My life has been a mad dash for several weeks. One of my four daughters went into labor 10 days early and I literally threw some things in a suitcase and hit the road.
I’d like to introduce you to the newest edition to our amazing family – Connor Andrew
A few days after the new arrival it was time to catch up on work and all of the things I had set on the back burner as I ran out the door. I felt a rush of frustration and overwhelm. So much to do. And then it hit me….we rush though our days. Our minds are filled with the things we need to do – we should do – what we’re missing. How often do we stop to appreciate the place we are right now?
Not the journey….but focusing on where we are right now – at his particular moment. Our emotional state, where we are physically – what phase of life we’re in?
Pause for a moment, right now, to notice where you are.
What do you see? What about the sounds, the smells, the feelings your body is feeling, the people around you? What are you thinking? What are you worried about, joyful about? What is stopping you from appreciating this moment?
Find something to be grateful about where you are – in this very moment. Are you with someone you love, enjoy that. If you’re doing something that makes the world a better place, be happy about that. If you’re in someplace beautiful, be thankful for that.
What if you’re not in a good place? This is something to appreciate as well. Experience your emotions. See that you are hurting. See that you wish things to be different. How does that feel in your body? Realize that it is temporary…a part of life. Not good or bad, just happening.
You are alive, and life is a wondrous thing. As I write this – all of the frustration and upset has faded away. There is nothing more important than this moment. I am smiling in appreciation. I am laughing in delight. I’m reminded to embrace ALL that life offers. It is my hope...that you are too!
Supporting you on your journey,
